Boss: Players must pull up their socks
Supa Strikas’ manager, The Boss, was one of the spectators wearing the red and white at Strikaland last weekend. The vuvuzelas, the dancing and the singing of “Supa Strikas for Life” were crushed by a poor performance by the Men in Red.
Boss wasn’t a happy man after 90 minutes of shouting for the Men in Red.
“I was very disappointed by the way our boys played. We started the game well, but after that we just played like an ordinary team… not like defending champions,” he said.
“Supa Strikas is a respected team with wonderful supporters who don’t stop singing until the final whistle. I wasn’t happy to see their sadness, as I really felt what they were feeling in the stands,” said The Boss.
“This game against Sultans was a good wake-up call to show the players they are not invincible. We still have a long way to go in this championship,” he added.
When asked about how Coach will approach the next game, The Boss didn’t want to tell, but only said; “The players must pull up their socks and show the fans that they are ready to defend the Super League title!”
With the Super League starting to heat up, Supa Strikas have the support of their fans and managing staff. Now it’s time for the players to give back by winning their next game, and bringing back the happiness to Strikaland.
