Lankey hungry to feature in United derby
Lankey, the Supa Strikas midfielder, is determined to play in his first ever derby when the Men in Red face off with mighty Invincible United in two weeks’ time at The Vice.
Coming from the Supa Strikas development side, Lankey is on the verge of making the 15-man squad to be named in a week’s time by Coach.
Lankey, who last appeared with the victorious squad that beat Gallacticos two months ago, has his eye on facing the likes of Skarra and Dingaan. United’s Skarra is one of the players Lankey said he would really like to take on.
“I always watch the game from the stands. I feel 13 July could be the biggest day of my life, playing in the derby and facing Skarra and the rest of Invincible United,” said the tall midfielder.
Most sports nuts agree that Lankey could be a player to watch in years to come, but believe the young midfielder still needs to learn a lot before facing the likes of Skarra and Dingaan.
Strikas’ next fixture might see the realisation of Lankey’s dream to help the Men in Red against their age-old rivals. But with other Strikas players also gunning for a place, Lankey should work hard to prove to the selectors he’s the best man for the post.
“I’m hungry to wear the Supa Strikas shirt again, so I’ll work hard at training and hopefully be chosen by Coach. He’s just gotta give me a shot!” said Lankey.
